This site has gone through a lot of renovation since I began building it in '03. It took me a long time to get up, and it's moved through a lot of phases since. I got the first one up and done right before DMC2 came out (admittedly, I wanted it done sooner than that, but I am lazy), and caught interest against with the debut of DMC3. From there it's undergone a lot of changes. Oh, by the way, screencaps are big. |
v. 01, there are 99 Floors in my Heart This one is still one of my favorites. It features the girl from the original DMC commercials strutting around in a vinyl Dante dress. I didn't expect to use this picture when I did, but I'm still proud of this layout; despite it's obvious ... redness. I was very conservative with my type, but kind of went wild with the grunge. |
v. 02, the Devils Cry I made this after watching the first trailer for Devil May Cry 3, and heard the song in the background. I immediately took a screencap and began to work with the image as best I could. All the layouts priory (even the one I tried with official DMC3 art when the first announcement of it came in PSM) blew. This was meant to be a temporary layout before I pulled things together. |
v. 03, Guernica Based off the Brand New (Ah, yes, I am a fan) song, Guernica, this particular layout reflected one of the first meetings between Dante and Vergil since childhood. There were a few lines in the song that struck me as meaningful toward the two of them, so I took a few scans from the manga and put together this layout. The more I look at it, the more I don't like it, though I think the concept is there. |
v. 04, Okay, I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don't Probably one of the most Dante-esque songs I've heard yet, Brand New produces yet another layout of me?this time its with the song, Okay, I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don't. The lyrics, if you're curious, are here |
v. 05, Now You've Got Something to Die For The second layout I made that was not based on a song. This one was actually based on a brush that gender made, which said "Now you've got something to die for." The image is from the manga, I used a few textures on it and colored it. The navigation and the "99th Floor" at the top are written by me. This is still one of my favorite layouts, the overall urban style really does make me think of Dante. The window's a little too small, though. |
