"What is Dante to Trish?" A lot. A brother, a savior; he still helped her even after she betrayed him, even if it was because her face. Trish's age is debatable, but she had to have been "born" after Eva died, which makes her about ten years old, at the most. She's still somewhat naive in the worst way, thinking that she's a puppet, and her only goal in life is to seduce Dante. It's even worse when she fails, and Mundus uses her to try and kill him.
It's Dante who shows up, rattles up her life a little bit, reminds her that she has a heart, that she's worth something other then a mindless doll made and used for one purpose. Given how she was made and "born," and that she's an unnatural being. She's a shadow of Dante's mother. It's even debatable whether or not she feels Eva's influence over her, if at all. Dante gave her a mind and a heart, clearing her soul of all of the things that she never felt before. She's almost childlike when she stares up at the sky in the first game, declaring how blue it was, as if she had never seen it before.
Even after everything that happened, she stays with Dante as his sidekick; working as a demon hunter, carrying (we can assume, from Devil May Cry 2) the Sparda, and Luce and Ombra. She considers Dante her friend, though, again, it's debatable whether or not they're anything more then friends and coworkers. At the end of the first game, Trish has obvious feelings from him, running to embrace him, letting her tears fall, even as he tells her that devils never cry. |
